Why Luka Doncic Will be a Hall of Famer

In a game in October 2016, Real Madrid (their basketball team) beat the OKC Thunder 76-61 in an exhibition game. In the 4th quarter of that game, 17-year-old Luka Doncic drove his way to the rack on a Thunder player and scored an open layup.

Who did this 17-year-old blow by for an easy two points? All-NBA Defensive 1st team member and All-Star guard Victor Oladipo.

In a Euro Basketball game in 2017, Doncic and Slovenia went up against Latvia. Doncic made it rain with 27 points and also grabbed nine rebounds. One of his four threes that game was a crafty stepback on a 7’3” Latvian player: Kristaps Porzingis.

Fast forward a year, and the Slovenian guard is coming into the NBA with a Euroleague MVP (youngest to ever do so) accompanied by a Euroleague championship. Not only has he proven to be a winner and able to score on premier NBA defenders, but Doncic’s accomplishments at his age are straight up unparalleled.

He can fire from deep, drive to the rack, dish assists, make smart plays, and he’s only 19. He has a long career ahead of him and has proven that he’s more than ready to run an NBA offense.

Doncic also presents an extremely high potential and basketball IQ with the elite guard skills that can take him to an MVP trophy. Don’t forget the promising Mavericks roster that could add DeAndre Jordan this offseason; we might see Doncic winning an NBA title in a few years.

I can’t stress enough how much I love this kid and how promising his future is. I’m calling it now; Luka Doncic will be a first ballot hall of famer.
