I love my Crocs. I wear them unironically – and with socks. They are good for anything from walking the dog, to showering, to running errands. My beloved classic gray Crocs are two years old and are in very good condition. Aside from some slight wear, they have survived several suitcase trips, two years of college, and a few beach days.
1. They are practical.
Crocs are easy to put on, easy to clean, and can be worn with or without socks.
After an ankle injury a few years ago, I often wear them when I am cooking or cleaning for a long period of time. They reduce the pain and pressure on my heels. Doctors are known to wear them all day, and I know what they are raving about.
2. They last forever and are relatively cheap.
I have had my Crocs for two years, and they are nowhere nearing retirement. I got mine at a Crocs outlet, and they retail for $39.99 on the Crocs website. Crocs have been selling the same style for at least 10 years, so the brand is clearly doing something right. They are just permanently in style.
3. Crocs come in all varieties.
4. Allegedly you can eat them.
I don’t know why you would want to, but if push comes to shove, you can boil and eat your crocs. A practical shoe, AND an emergency snack — what could be better?
5. Jibbitz are awesome.
6. I like them.
They are my shoes, so keep your hate (or misdirected jealousy) to yourself. And have fun tying your shoelaces.
